Gavin if your words above came true you would be my husbands hero! lol. He just cant do alpengeist with his size.

For what it's worth, Great Bear at Hershey Park has much narrower seats than Alpengeist, and it's also a B&M inverted coaster. I know that's hard to believe. Alpengeist just needs overall improvements, but I don't want the new trains. This year has been a bad year for all roller coasters except for Loch Ness Monster and Tempesto.

I guess new trains on Alpengeist would be nice, but I also don't quiet think that would be a pretty penny the park would be willing to spend.

This!

Unless the trains drastically improve the ride experience and boost the gate attendance, the company won't spend a dime on them. B&M trains are super expensive. When the park bought Apollo's Chariot in 1998, they paid $600K for each train. The price has definitely jumped a lot since then.

I don't think Alpengeist could be able to run the new trains AT ALL. Having ridden Banshee myself, you can easily tell that the new trains are very wide. So wide, I would say they wouldn't fit the clearance envelope of the current trains. Sure, it would be nice to see them, I just don't think it could happen. (Plus that would be in the $3m range for new trains)

So I certainly wouldn't advocate installing them on Alpie.

I'm curious. Are the restraints on Aplengeist similar to those on the Dragon Challenge ride at Universal Orlando? I seem to remember those pushing you down quite a bit. That was a fun ride and only had a 5 min wait when we were there last October.

Yes, as far as I know all B&M inverted coasters have the same restraint system up until Banshee opened at King's Island in 2014. Now specific restraint tightness may vary from ride to ride as they are adjusted by each parks maintenance department.
