So yes, at the end of the day BG>KD.
Thanks Nicole. I was wondering the same thing. I am going on Oct.4th and I have a Platinum Pass that I received when I was in Sandusky in April and May. I also know my CP friend put on the meal plan on My Platinum Pass, and guess what it works at CW, however, KD it does not. I even asked for a manager and was told they haven't included the all day eat meal plan yet because they are not that updated yet. I do believe we can get up to 6 people a discounted rate during the summer and it says, "that will be posted in August about Haunt the discount rate we get", however its September and still not posted. So if you go before then please let me know, I am a skeptical bitch too, since can use discount for plat. pass at all other CF, for food, drink, and adult bevs, but cannot use at KD for adult bevs. So PLEASE someone let me know if you are going to HAUNT before I do and you have a Platinum or Gold pass, what we can get the "so called discounts for friends admission, or In Park discounts.

The Haunt rates have been posted:

As far as the meal plans go. Kings Dominion won't offer the season pass+ dining until next year.

However, all other in park discounts should apply. It's not the all day dining thing but there is a 10% discount.

Hi! Does anyone know if I buy a silver pass, can I later upgrade it to gold? Would I just pay the difference? Thanks!

Thats a good question. I would email/call the park before making any decisions on this one. (804)876-5000 Mon-Wed-Fri 9am-3pm....

Just a quick question. I've been having a debate with this guy on Instagram who claims Cedar Fair parks are independent, and that each park decides what rides they get. I told him that would be incorrect because that would make each park a sole proprietorship, meaning they make business decisions for themselves without needing permission and would be able to decide what is built. After going back and forth, he said that Cedar Fair just approves the parks plans. Which I'm sure the park can run ideas by Corporate.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but as a Corporation, if Cedar Fair decides they want to put a roller coaster at Kings Dominion, a park that they own! It will indeed be built. Just wondering if I'm right or not, or how it really works.

You are correct. A simple look at the unity of each park's additions should be enough to dispute any claims otherwise:

- All parks have spent millions on Planet Snoopy rebranding with the same rides
- Most parks have added Soak City-branded water parks, or at least many of the same slides
- Many parks have Windseeker
- Many parks have Dinosaurs Alive
- All major coaster additions at CF parks for the past few years have been B&Ms

If each park had free reign over their budget and new additions, there would be much more variety and much less unity of corporate-based branding.

Thank you for the response, Joe! Those were great examples!

After seeing, "Cedar Fair doesn't put coasters in their parks, all Cedar Fair parks are independent," I got into business nerd mode real quick.

Just in case you have questions about an extremely large amount of law enforcement at KD this Thursday. (Park will be closed)

We haven't had KD Season's Passes in several years. Went last Sunday with intermittent rains, and crowds were at comfortable levels.

Can anyone tell me the best days and times  (lowest crowd levels) to go in summer?

Are Tuesdays usually pretty good?

Thanks!

Tuesdays are usually fine. Typically Monday-Thursday have the lightest crowds.

Since you asked about times as well, it is always vital that you arrive at the gates before opening if you want the shortest wait possible. This almost always means arriving at the toll booths around 9:50 and standing at the gates a little before 10. Even though most of the park doesn't open until 10:30, you can enjoy the attractions on International Street (Dominator, Berserker, the Eiffel Tower, and the new fountain show) starting at 10 before the rest of the park opens. You should line up behind the rope at one of the entrances to the rest of the park around 10:25 so you can beat the crowds to the headliners in Safari Village.

(For any pass holder, remember that KD has changed their Early Entry policy and 10 o'clock Early Entry to Safari Village is now only valid on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)

If you're planning on visiting Soak City, definitely try to be at the Soak City entrance gate by 11:50 or so. On many days, slides near the entrance like Tornado remain swamped throughout the day so the only way to ride without a substantial wait is to be there at opening.

Oh, and as Pretzel Kaiser said, Monday through Thursday are definitely the best days to go.
