I know it isn't new, but I have been reading Mad World: An Oral History of the New Wave Artists and Songs that Defined the 1980s.

The authors talk about their thoughts on each band and then interview the members, themselves, to get their perspectives on the post-punk music scene and their own careers. It is so very good.

If anyone here is looking for something to read I thought maybe I'd just put forward that I'm an author and you guys might enjoy some of my stuff, especially House of Angels. It has a sort of Six Feet Under/Angels in America kind of feel to it. Just... with angels. Anywho, just in case someone was looking for their next book to read!

Also, about this time last year I read The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I'm not a fan of second person writing styles but I do think this book was very clever and fun.

Just a quick note. Obviously, Merboy's post could be construed as self-promotion. Since he reached out to us and asked permission, however, we granted an exception. I just didn't want anyone to think that we weren't enforcing the rules.
