One of my favorite places to grab some food...

Pretzels made right before your eyes!
Watch them shove a dog into the the braided dough.
    Glorious!!

The sausages were noticeably smaller from last year, and still around the same price Tired

Yes. I noticed that as well. Don't read too much into the above image. The PRETZEL around the hot dog was ridiculously large this past weekend for whatever reason. It absolutely dwarfs the sausage dog. It was a good deal for a lot of extra yummy pretzel. Winking

I wish that the park would have the pretzel makers dress up in German Attire again. I fit the theme great!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Grinning

Don't worry, I still love you Busch Gardens!

Maybe its just me, but the sausage pretzels weren't as good as they were last year. I think they just went to Food Lion and bought Oscar Meyer hot dogs or something. They definitely didn't have that crunch like the Festhaus sausages do.

The one thing I don't like about the BUILDING, is that it doesn't go with the rest of Oktoberfest/Germany. You have a lot of pretty white building, some games, a nice white building labeled, "FESTHAUS", and BAM! You hit a brown building with black beams. It doesn't fit. I do like the theming on the inside though! Smiling

It's a beacon in the night!! I wish I could put a hammock up there to relax. Tongue

I also miss the days when Frankenstein's Monster would hang out front with a BIG ole' pretzel in his hands.

I think it looks great. If you walked around a real German Town, not everyone is going to build their houses and businesses to all like exactly the same. Granted a real German town wouldn't have a giant cartoon pretzel hanging off its walls, though it is possible.

Feed My Frankenstein!!

Found the pic I was looking for on my old flip, 2 megapixel phone.
I used to love seeing this. Something about a monster with beer & pretzels...

I hope BGW doesn't call them "Bavarian Pretzels."

Bavarian pretzel given EU protected origin status:

Well see I like the last paragraph,

Quote:Baked products manufactured and sold outside the EU, such as Bavarian pretzels found in the US, are not affected by the decision.

So really, this doesn't affect anyone in the world except for real Europe.

Yeah, I assume the US still doesn't participate in many proprietary labeling agreements, such as Appellation d'Origine Controlee for French products like cheeses and wines, so we still call any sparkling white wine champagne -- whereas much of the world only calls it champagne if it is sparkling white wine from the Champagne region in France.

I kind of think we're rubes about it, but there ya go.
