I knew something was up with that. Six Flags may be a lot of things, but I know they wouldn't schedule an opening date knowing it was waiting for an inspection. Completely out of the park's hands at this point. Sadly it effects them majorly.

So the bureaucratic hold-up was resolved?

Inspector came at midnight and approved it. Either way Zumanjaro and Ka are not allowed to cycle at the same time, reducing Ka's capacity to under 650 riders per hour and Zumanjaro to around 480. Ka is supposed to have 54 dispatches an hour and Zumanjaro was projected for 36, as it stands its now 36 and 18, respectively.

What? Is this temporary? How can they do that? Magic Mountain's doesn't have this problem. I think the park will regret installing this on Ka.

You can't really throw stuff off of Superman and have it hit the people on Drop of Doom like you can with people on Ka dropping stuff on Zumanjaro's riders.

Still I hope the state and the park will work something out in the coming year so the capacity doesn't have to be reduced like this. Adding nets along the coaster track on the coaster tower should help.

Yes, Superman is really laid out totally differently. I hope something can be done. I don't think SixFlags thought out all the scenarios with this install. They just wanted to open the worlds tallest drop tower and call it a day.

Wait. So there is a concern about people on the drop tower getting hit by people throwing and dropping stuff from the coaster? They didn't think about a mitigation for that before? I hope we are talking about things accidentally falling out of people's pockets...

Quarters, cell phone, sun glasses? Though there are malicious people out there. Dragon Challenge anyone?

People getting hit with loose articles has already happened before multiple times at Great Adventure itself. I've been hit with phones and a few other guests unfortunately have, too. The state knows guests do not listen to the safety spiels and the park's new "cell phone spiel" so they don't want to take any risk with some idiot taking out his phone on Ka and losing it as Zumanjaro is climbing the tower. Getting hit by a cell phone at 70 mph will break bones, at 128 mph it might kill you.

It just happens that the state decided on this measure before Great Adventure adopted the new cell phone policy. So considering the state proved their own point that people don't listen makes it seem to me like they're not gonna back down on the operations of Ka and Zumanjaro.

It's not like entrance attendants can do anything either. No loose articles are allowed on the side due to risk of being stolen, and most people keep the shit on them in the first place. They can't tell people to empty their pockets before riding and put it in a locker because that's a major breach of privacy AND people will lie and say their pockets are empty anyways. The guests themselves take that risks but they put other guests in danger doing stupid stuff like that instead of themselves.
