EDIT: That is, unless the ride is already open.
Thats cool, i had a similar idea. My idea was that they could ( if it would fit ) put a flying coaster called banshee behind EITA. The queue line already has kind of a spooky feel to it and banshees are Irish in origin so i think as far as theming goes it would fit. what do you think?

Copying Kings Island seems like a bad idea. I'd rather see a woodie in the forest, maybe themed to a troll or something.

That's a good idea too Smiling I just never thought that it would be possible for BGW to have a wooden coaster because of the thing that says they can't make too much noise. Which if you think about it doesn't really make sense because for the past four years they've been shooting off fireworks every night during the summer.

There is a noise restriction in place; however, I assume the park applies for and receives a permit each year to be allowed to use fireworks thus allowing them to bypass and forget the noise restrictions during a specified time period.

That was what I was thinking. It would be a drop-in replacement. There are multiple other problems beside what I just said. One, the banshee in Irish folklore is rather dark, so it might not exactly be the best for this family enviroment. Second, look here.

If they built an out and back and kept England's peaceful environment, they probably would have to build it over the parking lot and name it "The Irish Parking Lot Monster."
To boot, rumor from prvious posts has it that it's open again.

They could extend it out in the woods over by where the england lot bridge spans. Zach posted a picture a while ago showing that Expedition GeForce could fit into that area easily.

I actually would really prefer them to use some type of launch coaster in that area if they have to have a coaster there. A launch coaster would help it stay low to the ground and fit the terrain a bit better in my opinion. Plus it won't be too distracting from some of the most beautiful areas of the park.

I know i'm part of the minority here.... But i'd rather not see a coaster in that area. It's a very relaxed part of the park, and i'd hate to see that changed. I agree that EITA needs to go, and something proper needs to replace it though. i just don't have the answer for /what/ that replacement should be.

^You know what? I agree. Just realized, at least in the image Zachary posted, that a coaster there would lay right on top my peaceful path to the England lot. I love that area and would like it to stay serene.

Only CK can take a parking lot and praise its serenity. Tongue

I don't know if the park is capable of building things while preserving its natural environment anymore, but if they were, it would be extremely easy to keep a coaster in that area from negatively impacting the look and feel of its surroundings.

^This post puts everything into perspective. This is the perfect example of the 'somethings gotta give' scenario.

Found the text of my vision for EITA-replacement coaster, from a different thread:

I've given far more thought to that idea than any regular old park guest should. I would love to see a RMC style faux-woodie with a station exit and lift behind Ireland, a first drop plunging under the Ireland bridge in the direction of the train trestle, a couple of hops and maneuvers on that hillside above the trestle, and then a returning high speed dive beneath the bridge in the opposite direction... followed by a long, rapid fire, low-down series of hops and kicks Boulder Dash style up the ravine behind England, under the England parking lot bridge, and up to the top of that forested stretch between England parking lot and the ticket plaza.

There is a good bit of forested land up there; I would expect to have room for a ground hugging shenanigan or two on that high ground while still maintaining a healthy wooded buffer between it and the nearby lot and plaza areas. Then bang a tight 180 and hop/shuck/jive right back down that ravine in the opposite direction, beneath the England parking lot bridge again, continuing to keep it low and fast with not a single yard of straight track the entire way, ending in a tight climbing return to the station behind Ireland.

But in addition to some other challenges, it would spoil the serenity of that fountain area. There would be no avoiding some degree of deforestation in the ravine/hillside area along the ride's direct path; you'd get even more coaster overload in the vicinity of Loch Ness; and I imagine there would be some question about the ecological impact of building ~80% of the ride directly above the water.

I still like the idea, though I don't think the park really needs to use that area of the park for a new roller coaster anytime soon.  There are better candidate locations in my opinion, with less impact to the park's serene spots.

I'm sure it's been noted elsewhere, EITA is alive and well (depending how you look at it), my daughter rode it this past Sunday.
