Quote:LAWRENCE – A group of Lawrence residents are accusing Universal Studios of leaving them dangling upside-down on a roller coaster ride for an hour during their visit to the park two years ago, according to a recently filed lawsuit.

Kevin Malkin, Previous Forston and Anastasia Hedgepeth, of Lawrence, said they were visiting "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter," at Universal studios in Florida when they decided to go on a ride.

The group was partway through the roller coaster ride when it broke down, leaving them all stranded in the air, the lawsuit said.

"(Universal Studios) allowed plaintiffs to remain in a suspended upside-down position midair while ignoring their cries and screams for help," the suit said.

The group went on to say that the time they spent in the air was, "elongated" and nearly an hour.

They did not go into details about how they eventually got down or the reason for the ride's failure.

But they did blame the amusement park for ignoring the suspended visitors, not properly checking the ride and not adequately ensuring the safety of people coming to the park.

Their lawsuit was filed earlier this month in the Superior Court of Mercer County.

I REALLY dont think Universal will lose this one. Even if the ride is dueling dragons, it cant stop upside down unless it stalls, which i find hard to believe that it happened.
Another frivolous lawsuit.

They are most likely talking about Forbidden Journey, which doesn't even invert.  The Dueling Dragons trains have never been stuck on any of its inversions.

Now I don't usually question people's first names but who the hell names their child "Previous!" LMAO

These names sound like something from the mind of J.K. Rowling which leads me to conclude that this is a stunt.
If you look at the comments on the news article, they talk about the names, i also think I saw a comment or two that says something about rollercoasters not being safe and all that. Frowning

I really dont see why they filed a law suit TWO YEARS ago when the alleged incident actually happened, and also they said they sued universal for not adequately ensuring safety of guest coming to the park, which is so untrue as no one was hurt, still assuming that this actually happened, and all major parks inspect their rides everyday.

Anyways, these are just my thoughts, i just cant believe people do this stuff.

Come to think of it, those names are very suspect.

Kevin Malkin - In the Potterverse, there's a store in Diagon Alley called Madame Malkin's Robes.

Anastasia Hedgepeth - Anastasia is the name of Luna Lovegood's mother.

I'm thinking this is a stunt.

I want to see an official copy of the pleadings.
Ummm. wouldn't this have been all over social media accounts had it actually happened? If it's a fake story, Universal should go after them for slander and defamation. That would put an end to BS like this. I'd think there would be a record at the park of any such incident on any ride. I was there almost 2 years ago in September and there was no talk of any rides having this issue. I would know as I was extremely nervous of coasters before my trip there. And Dueling Dragons was the first I ever rode before moving onto the Hulk and RRR.
Lets not even mention the fact that this is basically impossible.
case closed, good work Tongue_out_laughing
